On Thursday afternoon we will be offering 5 different places to visit. You will be able to select your option at the Conference.

The Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotecnology (CIGB) since 1986 has become one of the most important research-production facilities at the "Western Havana Bio-Cluster", equipped and staffed to close the cycle from biological research, which means from biotech product and process development, to production, registering, and commercialization. The CIGB has 20 years of experience in the production of recombinant biopharmaceutical molecules such as interferon, Hepatitis B vaccine, Synthetic Haemophilus influenzae type b vaccine, Tetra- and Penta-valent Combined vaccines , streptokinase, epidermal growth factor formulated in different forms, monoclonal antibodies and other products, which are already producing a positive impact on public health in Cuba and a positive cash flow from sales to more than 50 countries.

Founded in 2005 by the plastic artist Alexis Leiva Machado (Kcho), as a center workshop and creative space for project development and technical support to institutions, social and cultural communities, cities and provinces throughout Cuba.

The Cuban Center for Neurosciences, CNEURO, which began as one of the first institutions worldwide using informatics for the analysis of the electrical activity of the brain, is nowadays one of the institutions devoted to basic and applied research as well as to the development of advanced technology in pursue of the diagnosis and intervention within problems related to mental health.

Reasearch guidelines of the CNEURO embrace topics associated to neurosciences: cognitive, social and environmental sciences; clinical neurophysiology; molecular biology and neuroinformatics. The main concern of CNEURO is to enhance and do leading research within a closed cycle in neurosciences, under a multidisciplinary approach which leads to comprehension in the functioning of the brain and diseases which produce a negative effect on the central nervous system.

The F.A.C., Cuban Art Factory, is the best night cultural proposal in Havana. There is always something new to do, theater, jazz, contemporary dance, concerts, DJ's, exhibitions or intranet chatting.
